“I Can Empower Myself”
The realization that it is only my intent to empower myself as a sexual abuse survivor does provide an inner peace for me today. My past offenders had encouraged silence & secrecy in a way so that I was persuaded to feel defenseless as a child until my early adulthood years. A distinct actualization of myself through opposition by with these experience did connect me to one form of vast motivation & an appreciable intention into my life for the enhancement of myself & environment.
I can empower myself at any time by recalling that I am an adult with a multitude of choices. Affirming these choices will allow me to take actions that are in my best interest. If a trigger response persists, I will be kind to myself and think about methods to remain in a reassuring, balanced power.
It is important to speak to & comfort myself as I walk towards an assortment of situations on my journey as a sexual abuse survivor. The most empowerment will be my willingness to own my vulnerability as then I see my choices more clearly & assured.
I am entitled to my righteous fury & can use this feeling to permit me into taking a holistic stance of action today.
No matter where you are right now on your journey as a sexual abuse survivor, remember that there is more to you than what the eye may perceive of the self at this time.
