I have always been on the offense toward the word acceptance. At one time, I believed it meant submission to something or someone, and I was definitely not going to do that. I had already experienced enough of that already in my life.
When I became ready and active on the approach of healing, I have discovered a new meaning of acceptance. Today it simply defines a meaning to reality rather than flailing against it. My complete purpose, which consists of every moment I have lived this far is my ultimate sacrifice for this journey.
Acknowledging where I’ve been, and where I am presently now, just means that I accept what is. Some days may be easier than others. There are moments where my life relies on “sanity” as a guide, and sometimes even this feels like it’s “on the line”.
I can admit to being subjected by overwhelming past and present feelings, thoughts, and experiences while I’m most vulnerable. As I affirm that while I am on my journey to purpose is ok, then my own acceptance will begin to ease any doubt. I can know that acceptance doesn’t necessarily mean to submit. All it means is that I am embracing my life exactly where it is- definitely not where I think that it should be.
Right now the word acceptance has a subtle and uplifting tone, nurturing me….
No matter where you are right now on your journey as a sexual abuse survivor, remember that there is more to you than what the eye may perceive of the self at this time. You are a Survivor-Stay in action on your healing journey every day and meditate on these concepts, “Today I Accept Where I Am in My Journey”.
Visualize the Affirmation, see it in color or as shaded black and white, however, the mind perceives it, allow for the current response to form naturally. Listen to yourself without judgment and begin to frequently journal this process as you transition the mind to higher knowledge of yourself.
